IntentBeamBot

What this crawler does, and how to stop it visiting your site.

If you found this page in your server logs, one of our crawlers requested a few pages from your website. This page explains exactly what it was doing and gives you a way to make it stop immediately.

How to identify it

User agentMozilla/5.0 (compatible; IntentBeamBot/1.0; +https://intentbeam.com)
Source addresses91.98.156.201
167.233.62.207
Pages requestedYour home page, and a small number of standard pages if they exist: /about, /contact, /team, /our-team, /people, /leadership, /management, /staff, /directors, /board
RateAt most one request every 1.2 seconds per site, and it stops as soon as it has what it needs. It never follows links deeper into a site, submits forms, or attempts to log in.

What it collects

Business contact details that you have chosen to publish: a business name, a phone number, a general email address, a postal address, social profile links, and the names and job titles shown on a public "about" or "team" page. It reads only what a visitor sees. It does not attempt to access anything behind a login, and it does not collect personal information about your customers.

How to block it

The crawler reads robots.txt before requesting anything beyond your home page, and honours it. To block it completely, add this to https://yoursite/robots.txt:

User-agent: IntentBeamBot
Disallow: /

It will stop on its next visit. You can also block the two addresses above at your firewall, which takes effect immediately.

Prefer to just ask? Email [email protected] with your domain and we will exclude it and remove anything already held. You do not need to give a reason, and you do not need to make a formal request.

Removing data we already hold

Email the address above with your domain or business name. We will remove the records and add the domain to a permanent exclusion list so it is not collected again. If you are in the UK or EU and want to exercise a right under the GDPR, say so and we will treat it as a formal request.
